the filter should be changed wiht the oil, popular opinion is use nissan oil filters,a dn honestly they are about on par price wise with quality aftermarkets, as for the tires, the new GT model comes with 18x8.5's up front wearing 245/45-18's and 19x10's in the rear wearing 265/35-19's which are a bit narrow for the 10" wheel but It looks like a 285 might rub

ALWAYS change your filter with each oil change and I personally never go over 3000 miles between oil and filter changes. It is the cheapest insurance for the health of your motor. Use the oil weight specified in the manual too.

run away from where ever you had your oil changed....don't look back!

I'm guessing they were too lazy to drop the plastic shield to get at the filter....hence the story about not having to change your filter...or they couldn't spend the time on it.....or they've never touched a Z in their life and have no clue...

I could be wrong (and I'm sure someone will let me know)

I don't believe that there is ANY vehicle that keeps it's oil filter forever...(how could it?) (Yes...I know about certain canister filters, however, the medium gets changed out...it's the same thing)

I don't think I'd run with the old filter at this point...go get yourself a new filter..drop the plastic cover and change it yourself...it might take all of 20 minutes if this is your first endevour with the plastic cover.

Wonder if you could sue them when your engine gets damaged from never changing out the filter (say you believed the line of BS they gave you and continued to have your car serviced there...and never-ever changed the oil filter....)

"Gee...I dunno.....it just stopped running....and it makes a weird noise if I try to start it...here....listen......"

...ummm what Solar_Orange said-imagine if they came out with a water filter that has a permanent water filter cartridge-would you drink the water?
