Just trying to do some research before I have to buy new tires (which will be pretty soon) My car currently has 215/40/17's on it. The wheels are 7" wide Konig Imagines, car is lowered via H&R springs. The 40 series tires are a bit smaller in diameter than the stock sized tires, so, my speedo is off about 3 MPH at 65. A 45 series is real close to the same diameter as the stock tires. Just not sure how the 45s will look. Anyone have a setup similar to this?? I'd like to see some pics if you do. I'd really like to go with wider tires, but, unfortunatly a 215 is about as good as it gets on a 7" wheel without having tire buldge which will actually lessen the contact patch :(

Sentra spec V's use 215/45/17 tires. Take a look and see if you like them. BTW you can run 225 on a 7in wheel. Anybody know how wide you can go on a 7.5 in?

Ahhh, thanks for the tip, I'll have to take a look at one. Yeah, I could go 225, but, it would have to be a 45 b/c I cant find a 225/40. The 225/45 is only .09" taller than the stock tires, but, with the samll amount of tire buldge, it would probably even out :) Hmmmmmm

Granted, the 225 will still fit on a 7" but that 'bulge' is going to make them handle like marshmallows. I'd stick with the 215/45-17 size and get into a nice sticky tire. There are some great choices in that size like the SO-3 Pole Positions or the F1 GS-D3 tires.

Yeah, I know. I'm probably gonna go with the Falken Ziex 512 in a 215/45/17. they're fairly cheap, look nice, and will last a while (judging by my previous experience and friends that have owned them) I want a good all around tire, it has to stick good in dry or wet conditions.....not concerned about snow....that doesnt happen much here and if it does, I don't drive the 240.
