Just got a 2006 350Z touring model. It only had 15,700 miles on it. It has new Goodyear rubber on the back (replaced by Dealer). Any thoughts on front rubber, which is original but in so-so condition? Thanks in advance!

What are your driving habits/style and the conditions that you're driving the Z in?

Live in San Diego, so the occasional rain. Will use it primarily to drive around town...will take it autocrossing occasionally but not on a regular basis...

Mmmmm...warm weather year-round, that would be nice! So since you don't really need all-season tires you've got some great options. I'll be a little bit biased in my recommendations, I love Bridgestone.

Bridgestone RE760 - A budget summer performer from that has a good tread-life and good test numbers, I was looking at running these in summer but will probably go with...

Bridgestone S-04 - The next step up from the 760, tread-life takes a little hit, but there's a step up in grip performance (note the AA traction rating). There's also a step up in what you'll need to shell out to get them.

And for those who don't care about purchase price or tread-life there's this...

Bridgestone RE-11 - A beast of tire with no compromises, except the cost of running and constantly replacing them. I put too many miles on my Z to even consider running these, but I know Soup (aka: DaSoupDude, my partner in crime in the 350/370Z forums) runs them on his Z down in The Sunshine State, maybe he'll chime in here.

And even though it's an all-season tire I'll link the shoes my Z is wearing. If you live someplace where the temps drop below 40 degrees and maybe you need a little better wet weather traction or even some light snow traction here's a great "compromise" tire...

Bridgestone RE970AS - High tread-wear, great grip, best all-season tire I've driven on, not counting the Continental's DWS (it's AMAZING in snow but has a sidewall that's too soft for me).

The two other summer tires that I constantly see great reviews of are...

Continental Extreme DW - Never driven with them, I've got a friend with a Mustang GT that loves them though. Basically a version of the DWS made just for the warmer months.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport - Always a contender for the top spot in Tire Rack testing. I have zero first or second-hand knowledge about them, only what I've read online.

Oh, and Welcome to NICO! :badger
