I had a prelude before, but this car gives me problem after problem after problem. Everytime I fix something, something else screws up. Do u guys have the same unrealibility issue. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car and very fun to drive and race, but all these problems are just making me want to sell the car and get something more reliable. Like a RSX type S.

when you put a custom kit on a car there is always bugs to work out for a little while. some car have problems some dont

its like a friends moms stock neon with 32,000mi blowing a headgasket yet ivan makes 400rwhp on a 115,000mi s13 no sweat.

all of us me, fiz, ivan, wd we all have problems. sometimes we dont mention all of them cuz they are minor and fixable, or just because we are used to it.

also think of lemon laws. these are made for cars from dealerships that continually have problems

No offense, but from what you have posted here, you cause most of your problems by trying to take shortcuts or being cheap. If its that easy for you, please, sell the 240 and buy another honduh.

I've had constant problems, I went through 3 MAFS at 100-150 bucks each. I've oil lines pop off, I've had SAFC problems, wideband problems, clutch problems and quite a few other tidbits I can't think of. All in the name of boost. I fabricated almost every piece I'm using, or atleast modified it to fit. The only things I've actually purchased and not modified are the Turbo, wastegate, FPR and the electronics. Everything else is a DIY project.

What kind of problems are plaguing you? We can probably figure out some answers if you post some questions. I wouldn't buy the RSX, it's a decent car, but there are several other cars in that price range that are far better.

The Neon is blowing head gaskets because it is made by Chrysler! What a piece of CRAP!! Sorry I couldn`t help myself. I had the misfortune of owning a chrysler product.

We all have problems with our KAT, it is because we modified it and added something that Nissan should have added in the first place. It can be frustrating but beating a V8 with our truck motor and we are not suppose to is priceless

This is my setup, garret t28 turbo running 11psi, stock clutch blew out, walboro fuel pump, 370cc injectors, hugh azz OBX FMI, safc2, aem uegeo wideband, hks bov, turbonectics MBC, 300zx fuel filter. I'm looking forward to a stage 3 clutch and a fidenza flywheel now because of my fuKed up fork, pressure plate or something, who cares, might as well replace everything!!!!! SOme guy is offering me a lsd for 100$. I gurantee even after I put that stuff on, something else is gonna break, even with 50,000!!!! Yea true, walking on sh*t all day long and taking corners with the rear end sliding out while having control is awesome too. Something a ff can never do.

I'm gonna give you 'tough love' here:

Don't come on here and ***** about parts that are set up to handle ~155 ft/lbs of torque not holding boost.

You gotta pay to play...and if you upgrade the HP, you have to upgrade the drivetrain to hold it. It's not that the KA-T is unreliable as the thread title says...you used sub-par parts and they gave up the ghost. We could have told you the stock would not hold...in fact, it goes without saying.

Anyway, don;t give up...it's worth the hassle. Once you've got everything sorted, it'll be as reliable as stock.

I've done nothing other than oil changes on my KA-T in the last ~1.5 years at ~300rwhp. Including track days, I drive it to work a couple days a week, always drive to events, do autrocrosses a couple time a month...it takes it like a champ, b/c I have the setup sorted out, and all the parts rated at the correct HP capacity.

You'll get there.

clutch is no biggie. i can assure you any other car will have the same problem if you rag on it, stock or modified. if you want longer life replce it with a kevlar faced disc but don't expect that to outlive you either.

u really have to learn some patience. I know me personally, problems are gonna plague you initially. Main reason is planning. You can't plan on things to break or for things to "give up the ghost". They happen and it does suck. I think you should be thankful that you actually know what your problem is. What if your car was have another issue that you couldnt figure out? You would be more pissed than a bad clutch. Yes the wallet is getting more dry and the account is losing integers, but the only way you could have avoided these problems is if sumone else was dealing with them for you. And where is the fun in that?

Just keep the faith and keep at it.

except for the winter i have daily driven my car for about 1.5 years now, the past year without a backup car. the car only went against me for a starter that could happen in any car.

i have replaced stuff and upgraded just to keep it from being so "unreliable"

Right now I have $700 worth of clutch, pressure plate and Flywheel sitting on my kitchen counter waiting to be installed on my otherwise STOCK 240. You may ask why I would do this. Well, my answer is, read your first post in this thread again!! A tip I learned a while ago about modding cars; Start at the rear wheels and work front!! It may not be as fun, but it will be cheaper in the long run!! your car is only as good as its weakest part and for you, the clutch was it!
