Tired of losing hubcaps? Here's a solution

I pulled one of them off a couple weeks ago because it was barely hanging on by one clip. Then, last Sunday I threw another one. Didn't want to look ghetto so I pulled the others off and started looking for options.

After looking at Walmart, Pep Boys, etc and not finding anything I liked, I went on Ebay, and found some replica ones. Got them today, total shipped was 32 bucks.

These aren't made by Nissan but they are pretty much identical to the OEM cover.....except one very important part. The clips that hold them on are thick, tough plastic, not the brittle crappy clips the original has. There's no way these are going to fly off. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Only thing different is they're missing the Nissan logo in the middle. I'm working on that.....just need a couple of those center logos and a tube of good epoxy.

Not trying to spam or advertise for this company, I just wanted everybody out there who has had problems with their covers to know that this is a much better option.

That's cool that you found replicas but in my opinion, wal-mart hubcaps look better than those things. Well, except the chrome ghetto looking ones.

I lost one and have taken them off since but I had looked at those on eBay too...can you pull off the chrome ring on the hubcaps? i was thinking if I ordered them I could replace the center logo since i recovered the one that tried to get away...care to post any pictures of your purchase? anything would be helpful

I was beside a red S hatch when I crossed over the border a few weeks back, and they had electrical ties holding the hubs in place, lol ... I've seen other models of cars with hubs do that. Definitely keeps them in place!

Paully, yes, it took a little bit of work, but it was easy. I didn't think to take any pics at the time, sorry.

The little chrome ring pops off from the back. There are four holes in the new wheel cover and four tabs on the ring, just push the tabs out from the back. Takes a little elbow grease but they will come off.

Now, the tabs on the Nissan logo (on the old wheelcovers) are different, and there are more of them. So after I got them off, I simply cut the tabs off with a Dremel. Easy. Then all I had to do was attach them to the new cover with some adhesive. I used JB Weld but I imagine any strong epoxy or superglue would work just as well.

Looked at Walmart but they were all ugly and ghetto looking. I prefer the factory type look, well, at least until I can afford some new rims.

Those caps you found on eBay look decent enough to replace missing caps. I lost a few caps on my old car on the interstate before and it does look odd without them lol. I wouldn't mind some new rims myself but while I wait I wouldn't mind a nicer set of caps. I don't mind the factory one's but wouldn't mind something nicer and not Wal-Mart ghetto lol!

thx for the help with the hubcaps...on second thought i might just sell my 3 like new ones on eBay, buy the pack of 4 and pocket 40.00 and put the money into something else...too bad one cap is so expensive...atleast they look almost the same
