so yea. i think im not the only one tired of this. ive read up, searched and found that there is no cabin filters on s13. this sucks especially if you live in the desert like me. anyone here done anything to their vent or what not to avoid getting all that gunk flying out the air vents?

You could MacGuyver up your own cabin filter using pantyhose. It would capture the bigger stuff. A lof of guys who run dunebuggies out in the sand put pantyhose over their air cleaners and at the end of the day you can see all the sand on the the pantyhose that didnt even make it to the filter.

I live in AZ and we just roll our windows down hoping it all flies out the window. I hate the desert....

the pantyhose trick sounds like a better idea. much cheaper and easier then my plan of rigging up an air filter box somewhere along the line.

window trick is kinda of what i do but isnt effective. the interior gets really dirty quickly too.

thanks for the usefully opinion. going to try it tomorrow.

whatever you do its going to have to be separate from water (well if you use a paper filter). you could cut a slice in your firewall big enough to slide a filter in there and just take it out when it rains... lol i know not very helpful

that would be ideal, but you would have to pull the heater box out (remove dash) and some how make a custom box for the element to sit in and then change it every 15000 miles.

thats a good one. seems more complicated that i thought. im a noob and i dont know much about the system so i was looking at the FSM and i thought i could just put something on the top of the intake unit where the outside air comes from but i guess thats actually way harder. ill try an easy fix first. ill try mixing what he did on the russian site and the pantyhose trick lol or loook around home depot or wal mart for a filter i can rig up to put about the blower motor. see if that goes anywhere. its scorching hot outside, kinda hard to work. thanks motoman and ska69

as ghetto as it sounds, my 1st try was a sock lol FAIL. then trimmed another cabin filter which greatly restricted the air way too much then i used this cloth material used for sunshade. 3 layers and its clean but kind of still making my ac weaker. im going to try trimming it down into 1 layer and see if i get better results. i loved how strong my a/c blew and i dont want to lose that.
