have a 2006 350 Z Touring edition...tires have 21,000 miles on them...coming up on needing to be replaced in a few months...i'm trying to start looking now, so that I don't get hit with $750 or so all at once.

I believe they're 18's and I know the back tires are a little bigger than the front...

does anyone know the exact size of what I'll need or what's the best size and also any websites with fair prices?

Recommendations on brands?

I definitely don't want to go through the dealership.

I'd appreciate any help!

You should actually give Tire Rack a call. The few times I have needed to, they were very helpful and knowledgeable. A simple discussion of driving habits, budget and how much tire you can expect for your money will be well worth a few minutes on the phone.

thanks for the info. man...might have to do that. I just want some decent tires that will last at least 20,000 miles. My car is an automatic...I mainly drive it on the interstate to and from work and around town...I take care of it, and it's stock...no upgrades...100,000 mile warranty. I don't need racing tires or anything. I'd prefer to keep the cost of each tire under $175.

Yes, definitely give Tire Rack a call!

If you do not live in snow country, then I would recommend excellent summer tires. My personal favorite is the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. Other possibilities include: Michelin Pilot PS2.

These are both excellent tires, but a bit on the expensive side too. They should last near 20k miles (the Goodyear does that on my heavier 2003 Infiniti M45).

In the M34/M45 forum (see link in my sig), I talk about tires for the Infiniti M45 in the forum stickies ... some of the brands and models will also serve you well for the Z.

The Eagle F1 All-Season is probably an excellent tire. Not as good as the Eagle F1 GS-D3 for handling, braking and wet weather, but the F1 All-Season will work okay in light snow, whereas I would simply not even try the GS-D3 in anything like cold weather!
