Having just switched over to my blizzaks for the winter I was surprised to find that my new Dunlop SP 5000 tires that got from Tirerack and put on last March are seriously worn on the inside edge down to the cord on one tire.

I knew the Q would wear the inside edges, but this is ridiculous. the back set, and the outside 90% of the fronts, are ok, but the insides of the fronts are down smooth. (Really, the cord is showing on one!!) Plus this car doesnt get any significant use---can't have had more than 5000 miles on it in that period.

Anyone have any experience remedying this problem through either tire warranties, alignment, different tire brand???, etc.

How many miles? What kind of driving? Stock wheeels? Had them all aligned and balanced? How about previous set of tires?

Take it from me, just because a car drives straight does not mean the alignment is proper. When was the last time you did it? When you put the tires on? 5000 miles ago?

We warned members about the Symetrical D5000. Did you notice it was a 51 psi [weak side wall tire]......hopefully you ran them greater than 40 psi cold [1521/51=30 pounds per psi and the front static weight is 1200 so 40 psi minimum COLD!With 51 psi tires you better check the inflation once a week.

Check you FRONT camber and make sure it doesn't exceed negative 0.7 degrees with you sitting in drivers seat!

If the camber is off you probably need to replace the upper links. Stock ones are $105 each and last maybe 60k. Stillen makes adjustable ones that cost twice as much but they may last considerably longer than stock. If you plan to keep the car another 100k or so, look into them.
