last year when i bought it would shake alot when i was braking so i took it to the dealer and they said the rotors needed to be resurfaced and also the control arm bushing were worn out. They surfaced the rotors and installed brand spanking new control arms, (they told me i cant just get the bushings) the car felt great but just the other day my wife got a flat so i took it to get repaird and noticed that the inside of the tire had wear but the rest of the tire still had 80% tread life left whats the cause? Is it the control arms maybe?(not installed right). THey also balanced the tire and did an alignment when the arms were installed. THANKS

sounds like you have a camber issue. Take it in for an alignment.

If the car isn't lowered, then it is not a camber issue. The G's and Z's both suffer from inside tire wear and/or tire feathering. The cause of the tire feathering is due to toe alignment. Have an alignment checked and see what the toe readings are, I bet it is toed out. Toe out is a bad thing on these cars. Toe needs to be max toe-in which should be a reading of .08* on the alignment readout.

Yeah, good point. Could be both but if the wear is coming quickly then I would agree that toe is more destructive and the probable cause.

Probably NOT a camber issue. Was this front or rear control arms? Toe is the biggest wear on tires since is causes abrasion on the tire when it rotates. My guess is they replaced the control arms but never realigned the car after.Your camber might have changed a little, but being that you can't adjust camber, more than likely your toe was off and caused premature tire wear. How long ago did you have CA replaced? If it's not that long, I'd make them replace the tire, check the others WITH YOU THERE physically seeing what they're measuring (tread depth across the tire) and have them realign the car

sorry i took so long to reply. The car has stock sport suspension, only the front CA were replaced and that was about a year ago.

This weekend while i was washing the car i took a look at the front tires again and noticed that there was a bit of wire starting to show so i took it to a tire shop and got some new tires put on and they did say i needed an alingment. The rear tires on the car were wearing perfectly, should i still get a 4 wheel alingment or just up front? Its getting alinged sometime this week.

That sucks i didnt think about taking it to the dealer, too late now. On average how often should a car be alingned

Have them align all four, no sense of getting it up there and just havign them put sensors on the front, they're not going to charge you any different.Does the car pull in any direction going down the road? Is the steering wheel centered? The cars run stock negative camber anywhere from -.3 to -1.1. Try to get that back to factory specs. Also once a car is aligned you should really only have to do it maybe once a year. But hitting curbs, potholes, road joists or anything else can knock an alignment out. Even adding a fat girlfriend to your passenger side can f*ck it up when she's in it.
