Almost 6 months and 13K miles ago I bought new tires (225-55 16 99W Kumho ECSTA SPT) and an alignment for my 94 Q45t. I am about to rotate the tires a second time, but I am still getting too much wear on the inner sholder of my tires. This wear occurs on all 4 tires to some degree. The picture does not do it justice, but at this rate the tire's life will end prematurely :-(

Here are the readings and specs after my last alignment:

FRONTCamber L: -1.1 R: -1.2 Spec -1.6 to -0.1Caster L: 5.7 R: 5.3 Spec: 5.8 to 7.3Toe L: 0.04 R: 0.06 Spec: 0.00 to 0.08SAI L:12.5 R: 13.2 Spec: 12.0 to 13.5Included Angle L: 11.4 R: 12.0 Spec: 10.4 to 13.4Cross Camber 0.01Cross Caster 0.04Cross SAI -0.7Total Toe: 0.09 Spec: 0.00 to 0.17

REARCamber L: -1.2 R: -1.1 Spec -1.6 to -0.6Toe: L: 0.11 R: 0.12 Spec 0.00 to 0.18Cross Camber 0.0Total Toe: 0.23 Spec: 0.00 to 0.37Thrust Angle: 0.00

Except for Front camber, all is in spec. - but isn't it better to see the toe closer to zero. I am considering tweaking the alignment myself.

I measured thread pitch of 0.06" over a 4" distance from pivot.... calculates to one complete turn of the adjusting nut on the front is equal to about 0.85 degrees. That is HUGE compared to making two adjustment of 0.04" (1 /20th of tuurn of the nut). Did I calculate this right?

Anyways, just like some advice on the best way to get my tires to wear evenly. It might also be the type of driving I do... lots of hard curves at 45- 60 mph.

Thanks,

Looks normal for Kumho tires, they wear very different from the stronger edge supported Michelins.

Looks like you have them under inflated! High both outer edge wear.

Remember the tire placard only applies to the OEM MICHELIN TIRES that came on car every other size and BRAND AND MODEL must be individually tested to determine PSI.

YES THE ALIGNMENT REQUIRES miniscule fractions of turns. Always make sure your weight equivalent is in drivers seat during alignment.

Obviously alignment will change as the fuel load changes almost 150 pounds of fuel sitting in rear. The rear will rise 0.6 inches full to empty, this changes rear camber by 0.5 degrees.

The other problem is the rear toe compensation on acceleration and deceleration...........the suspension arm bushings change stiffness with age and ozone exposure/temperature so hard to say how much to correct brand new oem center specs with age.
