Ordered 4 tire totes and 4 tire felts from Tirerack today. Total was 82.34 getting shipped from Reno NV. Will be here in a week or so. I'm gonna store my stock alloys in them during the summer and break them out for the winter. Woot!

Ok, this one I may be a little uneducated about. I have my steelies sitting in the back of a shed, leaning against the wall. I guess what I'm asking is why buy tire totes? Would a garbage bag or something not be the same thing? Do they prevent dry rot or something?

The purpose of tire totes is to protect the wheel/tire from exposure to dirt, UV, outside elements if you store them outside, and they won't get all scratched/dinged up. Plus, they're easier to carry around from point a to point b because they have a handle on the ends to pick up from similar to a suitcase. You can easily stack them up and store them without worries.

Garbage bags get torn easily, you can't pick them up in a bag as easily. Somebody might mistake them for garbage too. It's not as practical.

I have Michelin Tire Totes.Won them as a door prize at a Stag & Doe. They velcro up around the tires. I used them to store my stock tires during the winter. Kept them nice and clean. They turned out to be a very handy prize!

Ash, you could check these out. Don't know if they will work with the Michelin tire totes.

Cool. My totes look just like that w/out the felt part. I don't think I am going to spend money on the felt part though, lol. The totes are great right now. I cleaned my winter tires before I put them away and they are tucked away in the garage where my V sleeps. They don't get touched in the garage. For me the totes are good enough, lol. Thanks for the info though.

Wow, I've grown up my entire life in NC, no stop lights in my hometown and haven't even heard of a 'stag & doe'.

Of course I'd never really heard of tire totes either, must be a crazy northern thing.

You've never heard of a stag & doe? WOW? Engaged couples sometimes have a stag & doe. This means that they sell tickets to a party (usually a month or two before the wedding) and there is alocohol, food, and lots of raffle and door prizes. It's fun! The bridal party usually helps run the stag & doe. Sometimes the groom will only have a stag where only men are allowed to attend the event.
