Greets All
I traded my Atima SE R in on a 2008 G37Sport. I was hoping to use the Winter High Perf Toyo's on 17" steel rims I had for the SE R The bolt pattern is the same but the brake caliper sticks out a bit. Has anyone ever used spacers for this issue. Also I noticed that there was a 7kph difference in speed from my speedo and a gps I had turned on. I thought I was going 100kph but I was acually going 93kph. Is this a know issue? It would make a big difference in mileage and warranties. 100,000 klicks would only be 93000 klicks.

thanks for any info an happy hollidays

There are actually converters you can get to basically multiply the speed by a constant to output it at a different speed. People do this primarily if they change their rear end gear ratio. On nissan's the speed is measured as the driveshaft speed, so changing the rear tires or diff will change it.

Honestly it would be easier to just run the right size tires. Those converter boxes are about $100 and they aren't super easy to install..

Spacers shouldn't be a big deal, how big of spacers did you need to use? On my Q45 I use 10mm spacers to run my winter wheels, as I have Z32 brakes on the car... I've been using them for about 5 years now and everything's good!

Thanks for the reply Elwesso
I need to do a finnal measure to see how much I'll need. I think it would be between 2 and 3 cm. I just re read my post and I need to clarify the speedo difference part. I have stock tires on the car now 19's front and back 225 front and 245 rear. I bought a used lease return that was basically a new car. It doesn't have the nav system, but I have one I use on the longer trips. I was hooking it up an took a drive and thats when I noticed the difference in speed reporting. The car would report 100kph and the nav reported it as 93kph. I tend to think that the nav would be more correct as all it really does is calculate speed of it's movement. So I just wondered if this was an issue with just my car or one with all G's. 7kph doesn't seem like a big deal, but like I said in the first post...I have a 200,000 kilometer no time after factory warranty. I could end up out of warranty 14000 kilo's before I really ends. Not to mention resale 90,000 looks better than 100,000 and relates so in the final sale price. I kinda sound like a nitpicky anus...lol but If it's something relevant to MY car only I can start with the dealership to see if it can be corrected. I only have 30,000 ks on it now and the factory warranty is still in effect.
oh an BTW
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

17" steel wheels won't fit over the Akebono sport brakes. Minimum would be 18" and even some of those may rub on the calipers.

Not sure why you would have a speed difference via an external GPS and the speedometer. Have you validated the GPS with another vehicle? Mine seems accurate based upon my Garmin.

Thanks for the info about the 17's. I had checked the GPS against my last car 06 Nissan Altima SE R. It came stock with 18's and was it was 2kms faster than the GPS. When I put the 17 inch winter tyres (same ones I was hoping to use on the G) the speedo and the GPS were the same. I tested it against my wife's 08 PT cruiser they were the same. I even checked it against my Harley Ultra Classic same same. So I'm pretty sure the difference is from the G37. I was wondering if there was a know issue with the accuracy of the speedo's or if, (most likely) it's my car. I'm going to check the odometer next time I'm out and about. I hope it's just an anomaly with the speedometer and doesn't continue on to the odometer.

Cheers

Seems if correct you can use it to get out of a potential ticket..... ;)
