i'm going to be upgrading my wheels and tires on my 93 vert here in the near future. i'm going to be running a set of sportmax 962's: 17x7 +40 in the front and 17x9 +35 in the rear.

now i'm having some trouble deciding what tire size to run with this setup. i just want something that i can run year round without having any serious issues (like a messed up speedometer or rubbing on something).

when i went to my local tire place to get some ideas, they recommended to run 215/45 in the front and 255/40 in the rear. from my own research, i think i'd rather run a 205/45 in the front with the 255/40 in the rear.

i was hoping i could get some feedback from some experienced members or someone who has a similar setup. keep in mind that i really don't like the look of stretched tires. i want he section width to be greater than the rim width. with the 205/45's and the 255/40's i think i'm going to have tires that are about 1" wider than the wheels in both the front and the rear.

any thoughts, comments, recommendations? thanks in advance.

Either will be fine...

just to let you know, daily driving you may not feel it... but if you ever drive that setup hard - there should be significant understeer.

Usually, stagger setups are only about 1" different in width or diameter & likewise w/ tire sizes.

From your choice of sportmax tho, if it's just for looks, you'll be fine.

for now, yes, it's pretty much just for looks. otherwise, just srtaightn line. this is my first 240 so it's going to be my "evil experiment" car. just so i can get a feel for working on them and seeing what they can do. in the next year i'm planning on doing an sr20 swap and maybe doing some body work. thanks for the reply.

anyone else?
