I am replacing the stock tires on my g35 coupe MT. I would like to switch the front tire size from 225 45 18 to 235 40 18 because there are more tires available in this size. Are they going to fit ok? They are only slightly wider so I want to make sure that they won't rub. Has anyone changed sizes on their tires? Any problems?

I wouldnt reccomend changing the G35's tire sizing without changing the wheels. IIRC the front wheels are 8" and the rear are 9" or 8.5"(I could be wrong, I havent checked lately)

if so, putting a smaller, less-load indexed tire thats also wider causes a few problems for you.1-the bead of the tire is "pinched" more, increasing the effective apsect ratio of the tire2. contact patch distortion occurs(see above)3- load capacity, and thus stregth is reduced of the tire itself

none of which are "good" ideas. the tire WILL fit, but I would stick to the origional tire size.-chet
