Tire size question...

Hey guys, I have looked around and cannot seem to find a straight answer to my question..

What is the largest tire that will fit on my 98 Frontier XE 4wd without rubbing? I am going to go ahead and guess 31x10.5x15? I found a screaming deal on some 32x11.5x15s, but I imagine they won't fit.

Also, any tire recommendations that wont break the bank (<$600) would be appreciated.

E: Have BFG Long Trail TAs on it now. Nice tire, but I would like a little more off-road bite.

This is a somewhat difficult question to answer. I am pretty good friends with the local tire shop, and they have new and used tires, they let me roll whatever I like to my ride and let me take measurements. The critical thing to look for when going big is clearance when steering. My wheels have a very large offset to get the widest stance possible, and when I make a sharp turn I can scrub the tires in the wheel well even with a 3" body lift.

In summary, the straight answer may be difficult to get because lift kits and torsion adjustment can make a big difference in what kinda meat you can get under the fenderwells. Hope this helps!

I have 31's on my 2002. They rubbed before I trimmed back my front mudflaps a bit. 32's are going to require more trimming and possible a quick suspension lift to clear the fenders.

Thanks guys. I would like to keep the trimming minimal, so I guess I will be looking for something in the 30-31" range.
