 I'm new to Nissan and this board. I'm hoping someone can help us with tires for our race car. It's running on circle tracks in the north east USA. The tires currently on the car are 225 R60 15s and they stick out about 2" from the car body. We've been told that we have to pull them inboard. We need to run a 14 or 15 inch wheel. 60 series tires are the largest we can run. We have to run steel wheels. Can someone help us out with a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to nico!

Are you running aftermarket wheels? If so I would check the offset and compare it to the factory spec (not sure what that is off the top of my head .. I'm sure some of the more experienced members here will know).

The wheels we are currently running are 15x8 with a 4" backspace made for Jeeps. We've located 8" wide wheels with 5.125" of back space but that will still leave the tires sticking out by 3/4 of an inch. The only solution we've come up with is to reduce the size of the tires to 195/60R14. But if we do that we will lose one in of tread width. We haven't been able to locate a 15x8 wheel with 6" of back space. Obviously to go around a corner at maximum Gs we want the widest tire and the widest track width possible. The stock 16 inch rims aren't legal and the stock 14 inch rims are way to narrow.

Unfortunately the rules don't allow us to flare the fenders.
