hows it going guysso i just ordered some wheels for my s13 they are 17x9 with +12 offset, my question is about the tires i should get for these wheels, the car will be daily driven it will not see the track, i was thinking of getting some federal 595 in 215/45/17 or 215/40/17 but i am just not sure on what to get, like i said the car is for daily use the car is on coilovers, and a big factor i should say is that the roads here in puerto rico are horrible im sure some may know if you have visited, what are your thoughts if you have a similar set up??i am not looking for that stretched look i actually want something that will protect the wheels if thats possible.thanks for any help and input guys.

17x9"+12

lets break it down

9in" =228.6mm

your tired should be around 235 factor in about 10mm for added rim spacing/bead on the lip ect..

235 would nither be stretched nor bubbled anything +/- will be ither stretched or bubbled...

good luck

You might be able to get away with a set of 225/45/17.

are your fenders rolled and pulled? or just rolled?

One on the left is a 215/40 the right one is a 215/45(don't mind the overspray lol)There both 17x9's. I'd say go 215/45, but I like stretch.

There shouldn't be any reason you shouldn't be able to rotate them. I don't know how bad roads are where you are but they can't be much worse the the potholes in the infield at Racecity, and that's where my local drift organization practices. And I was always surprised by how the rims never got wrecked or even rashed up at all. Same deal with the 215/40's but they seemed too small for the wheel well.

I would say you should try out a 215 45 17 in front and the same for the rear.It isn't TOO stretched.

yeah the roads are pretty bad here but i think i will be fine with those 215/45 the car is to go to work and school so that should be fine, the wheels are gramlights 57d so they are good wheels and are also white i just want to protect them as much as possible, thanks for the help definetly helped with my choice.

i think thats exactly what im going to do get some federals 215/45/17 seems to be pretty standard for that size wheel and i think i should be able to rotate them without a problem. thanks for the input.

With a 9in rim? I would go MINIMUM 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear. Ive only got an 8in rim in the back, and I'm thinking about cramming a 255 on there. If you are only going to run a little rubber band 215, why get a 9in rim? I go by the "fit the widest tires possible" ideology.

well with all the searching i have done on here and other forums and such the 215/45/17 on a 17x9 wheels seems to be a pretty standard size and i have asked the people that have these if they have had any problems and its seems to be fine, i guess its also about preference and style i think this is just enough stretch for me and seems to be safe and ill also be able to rotate the wheels so thats a plus, i did think about going with a bigger tire but i think that size will do it for me. thanks for the inputtake care

happy holidays to alldo you guys know where i can get a set of some federal 595's in 215/45/17 shipped to puerto rico, i tried city tire but they dont ship to puerto rico, do you guys know of anywhere to get some of those tires and that they are willing to ship out here? the reason i ask is because they are asking $105 dollars per tire out here when i see them go for 70-75 dollars out there so i wanna see if it would be worth it to get them shipped from out there, thanks for any help.
