exactly, the middle number gives you the "profile" of your tire, based on the width of the tire. The lower this number, the smaller your sidewalls, thus the smaller the overall diameter of your tire!
With 245/30/20 tires, your sidewalls will be 2.89"With 245/35/20 tires, your sidewalls will be 3.37"
equation is...
24.5 (24.5cm or 245mm) x .30 (30% profile) = 7.35cm sidewall
7.35cm x 1/2.54 = 2.89" sidewall (1 inch is 2.54cm)
Now take the 2.89" and multiply that by 2 = Toal side wall for both sides of the tire = 5.78" total siwall
now add the diameter of the rim (in this case 20" .. this is where the 245/30/20 comes in at) 5.78" + 20" = 25.78" tire diameter
