I just got some rota grids, and I used the tire calculator to find the size that will make the speedometer read correctly: 225/50/16. Will these tires fit without the need to roll the fenders? What size would you recommend? This is for a daily driver. Thanks

Proabably depends more on your suspension (how low/stiff) and a roll of fenders is never bad, but should be able to avoid a pull.

Youre most likely going to need a slight roll, but it really depends on how much camber you want to run. What other suspension mods do you have? Coilovers, camber adjustability?

I see your from the Chi-Town area, have you registered over at http://www.chicagoarea240sx.editboard.com ??

whiterps13: Yup. I'm Dirty Dee on there too.

I have nothing yet. I am saving up for some coilovers currently. Possibly stance.

Here are the pictures that I found of them on a hatchback:

Yeah, as you can see in those pictures the fenders are rolled and slightly flared.

If you want to stick to just a roll, run a 205/50/16. The rolling diameter might be a little off from stock, but in the end it will only mean a few miles per hour at highway speeds.

Also, think about getting some front upper mounts and rear upper control arms to adjust the camber and reduce the amount of rolling necesary.

I dont need front upper mounts if I get coilovers though, right? And isnt the 240's stock tire size 205/55/16?

You dont need front uppers if the coilovers come with camber adjustability. Most higher end coilovers do.

The s13 stock tire size is 205/60/15.

don't run 205/55 because it looks stupid on 16x8, it's like kinda stretched with a mile of sidewall. even if the tires were free (and i still had my grids) i wouldn't run that size again.

for s13 205/55 is too tall anyway, so is 225/50, both taller than stock by 1" diameter. if you're stock height you could run these without a problem.

if you're lowered 205/50 fits fine and it's stock diameter, i had hankook rs2's in this size and they weren't even stretched (big tire i guess???). 225/45 would work fine in rear, also stock diameter.

Thanks for all the info. I am going to install the wheels and tires after I get the coilovers. This car is garaged until May anyway so I am just collecting parts right now until school is done. What is the difference between rolling and flaring?
