Hi All,
I am looking for some tire size guidance.
Here are some details.
I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with a 2-2.5" suspension lift front and rear.

I have ordered some aftermarket wheels because the cost is pretty close to refurbished factory wheels in the larger size. They are 18x9 with a positive offset of 18mm.

The specifications are as follows. the ones that
KM54289064718 KM542 IMPACT SATIN BLACK 18X9 6X114.3 5.71 18mm 66.06 31.49 lbs 2500 1.34 T164H120-6-H30-S1 $279.00
The largest stock wheels appear to be either 18x7.5 or 18x8 for the R51 with a Positive offset of 30mm.
It looks like 285/65/18s fit on the larger stock wheel.
Because I can get them for a pretty good price, i am looking at the BFgoodrich all-terrain T/A KO2s in either 285/65/R18 or the 33x12.5R18. Both tires are basically the same height 32.6 vs 32.5. They are both listed as working on the 18x9s (8-10 inches for the 285s and 8.5 to 11 for the 33s). However, the width is different. I am not sure what I should look at for total width? Its either 285 (11.22inches) vs the 12.5 or the section width which is 12" on an 8.5" or 13" on a 10" wheel respectively.
The difference in offsets should tuck the wheels in by about a half an inch. So the larger size is basically gonna stick out by about a 1/2 to 3/4s of an inch past what the 285s do.
So anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? I would like to avoid cutting metal but don't mind going to town on the plastic liners and mud guards (removal of the mudguards is fine.). I am going from stock sized 245/75/R16s to whatever i pick here.
The other option is to cancel the wheels order and go with either 265/75R16 or 275/70/R16 but they just seem kinda short and small to me.
