I noticed that my front tires are wearing faster than I'd like...more wear on the outside than the inside. Anyone else having more wear than normal?

I'm at just over 12k for my 2009 G37S sedan.

update: I'm going with 245/45 -18s all around...ContiExtreme DW (summer tires)

So I need to replace mine...What size has everyone been using? In my G35 coupe, I put on a size slightly wider than OEM and loved the look. Anyone do this to the 09+ Sedan?

I have the Sport option (18" rims)...

I would look into an aligment, outside wear on stock height indicates toe issue. Cars have negative camber, even at factory settings, so the inside should wear before the outside all day long. Unless you drive in circles every where....

Joe, on the sedan I'm running 245-40-18's all around. Plenty of tire for it.

Do you have the sport option? What model / manufacturer tire?

It's a sport edition but I went ahead and put the same size tires on it regardless. I'm running ContiExtreme DWS on both cars.

Do you think 245/45 -18s would work on all four rims? Any issues with the VDC??

I've got it down to the ContiExtreme Contact DW, Yokohama S. Drives, BFGoodrich g-force T/A KDW 2, or Sumitomo
HTR Z II.

What would be the difference between the 245/45 and the 245/40 tires?

The 245-45 tire will be 3.8% slower than a 245-40.

ContiExtreme is pretty good for a all-season. Sumitomo HTR-Z II would probably be OK for about 10k miles and then they probably get crappy like the HTR+'s did. When I had Sumitomo's I had two blow outs. Besides one BFG gatorback that was cut by road debris in '92 that's the only other flat tires I've ever had while driving. Not good, IMO. Cheap too.

If you were up here I could get you a set of Hankook V4's for around $250 with almost new fronts and +50% left on rear...they came off the wifes sedan.

Good tires. They should do fine in GA while being quite a bit more sticky than the DWS's.
