tire size for 16x8 wheels

Whats the recommended or prefered tire size for 16x8 wheels? I was looking at 205/45/16, what do you guys think? or should more meat such 205/50/16 are better?

205s are way too skinny for 8" wheels, i have 225s on mine and i think they are too thin.

225/50/16 if you want a mild stretch245/45/16 if you want a meaty tire

225 is generally considered perfectly square on an 8" wide rim. for a 240 you are going to want 225/50 to maintain the same overall diameter as stock. I run 225/50/16 in the rear of my car.

225/50/16 here on a 7.5 wide, should be fine on an 8 inch too, if i decide to get 16x8 on my next set over 17x7.5 or 8.5 ill be getting 225/50/16 for them again
