well guys,i just got a bangin' deal on some 16x7/8" enkei racing S wheels.

the problem i have is..

would 205/55 or 60/16 look about the same on both?i dont want the front to be bulging out and the rears square or worse, stretched...

i was thinking about getting separate sizes for front and back, but i realized i couldnt rotate them.., i'd like to have the ability to rotate them since i'll be running these as a daily set.

if anyone knows.. let me know, thanks.

mike

you should be running 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear

running the same size tire all around on those wheels would create the situation youre talking about

sorry for thread jacking but i've been reading some stuff and getting confused. why do you want smaller side walls on the rear? you say for the front 205/55/16 and the rear 225/50/16? thanks

the middle number is the aspect ratio

its the size of the sidewall as a percentage of the width

so the fronts would have a sidewall height 55% of 205, the rears would have 50% of 225

btw dean caught something, i had a brain fart before

you cant rotate staggered wheel sizes anyway, so why worry about staggered tire sizes?

oh,i was thinking more in terms of running same sizes and rotating the tires alone..not the entire wheel.anyways.. a problem came up.

i just recieved the wheels and one wheel is bent and has a ~1/2" of crack along the bend.

definitely going to be taking care of this issue first.

To add on to nismofly's info. 55% of 205 ~= 50% of 225. The side walls are practically the same thickness.

(.50)*(225)= 112.5(.55)*(205)= 112.75

that would cost a TON of money

as in, youd save money by getting new tires halfway through their life over doing it that way

the bend wouldnt be a problem...$100 or so

but the crack might mean you cant use that wheel
