The only Yokohama to even consider on strength basis is the dB S2.banshee08 wrote:I don't want to spend too much but I was hoping to try the Yokohoma Advant S4 this time around.
The Advan is a mid range passenger cruising tire that is not strong enough for the Q. Great for Buicks on family vacation to Wally World, but not for the demands on the front end of a G50.banshee08 wrote:At least in the advant S4 the weight rating of 96, or am I looking at the wrong numbers??
Are these the tires you are using?GQ Jay wrote:opinion: i went with a 100Y rating-dunlop sport maxx (tires are actually z rated, but i guess the load rating is for a derated Y speed?). they are pricey at $200 per, but the peace of mind is there. car came originally with 95V tires, but the extra weight of the active (even if partially decommissioned-i assume you didn't strip *everything*)- would make me go for a minimum 96V tire.
if true on 7.5 and +35, you'll have no worries on the 245/45.
Rex, another design optimized for Miatas, not heavy cars llike Q45. Dennis has commented on them.Rex wrote:What's wrong with the Yokohama AVS ES100? I have them on my Q (Murano wheels) and I'm very happy with them.
In a 245/45/18 size they're Load Rated as 100?!?!maxnix wrote:Rex, another design optimized for Miatas, not heavy cars llike Q45. Dennis has commented on them.
How many miles do you have?
I was under the impression that 235/45/18s are 26.5" and 255/45/18s are 27".Maybe you meant 255/ 40 /18 for true 26".tkd_q45 wrote:...............If you want true 26" DIA you'll need to run 235/45/18 or 255/45/18.............
I agree, I wonder if he meant 255/45/17?ddrumman wrote:I was under the impression that 235/45/18s are 26.5" and 255/45/18s are 27".Maybe you meant 255/ 40 /18 for true 26".
