you can take the sensor and put them in the new wheels or buy new sensors and get them reprogrammed or like most of us, save the $ and live with the warning light

Or you can remove them from your stock tires and put them on your new ones. Its only an insert around the valve stem.

Johnny,

You dont need to unmount the tires, they just open the area where the sensor is. So no need to take off the tires. Thats what they did to get my old sensors transfered into the new wheels.

I think you do have to take the tire off, but I could be wrong... when I got my rims and tires installed, they removed my old sensors and put them on the new rims for free!!!

They used a machine on mine where it pushes the tire sidewall down near the valve stem. So when the tire is pushed down, they were able to take out the TPMS.

The red circle is where they pushed it down with a machine, not the best example but just trying to help you picture it.

Its was probably the bead breaking jaw. Its what they would use to take the tire off the rim in the first place. They collapse the sidewall with the jaw and then stick a tire mounting bar between the rim and the bead of the tire. Then rotate the tire. Therefore popping the tire up and over the rim. All they did was open a hole to the interior of the tire beside the valve stem. I'm sure its connected to the rim on the inside. It sends a radio frequency to your tpms. Its defiantly removable and transferable given you have the right amount of space on you new rims valve stem whole

1. maybe, depends on if your hole is short enough to fit the stubbier TPMS valve stem. But 85% yes.

2. Yes, they will have to be taken off to insert the sensor
