I have a M45 and had my tires rotated at a tire shop. The next day one of my tires was completely flat. I took it back in to the tire shop and they indicated one of the valve stems was cracked, which is was, and that the sensor would have to be replaced, which it was. Now my computer won't show what the psi amounts are for any tire, and the low tire sensor has come on twice. I took it back to tire shop, and it sill isn't resetting. I called the dealer, and they said I had to bring car in for them to reset it. Is this true and now I'm thinking the tire shop broke the valve to begin with. Will unhooking the battery reset the computer???? I don't want to spend $50 to reset it.

From my own experience and others I've read about herein, you just have to be patient and allow it to reset itself. If it continues past 100 miles or so I would think it's dealer time.

If it's and 06+ you should take it to the dealer and have them reset it. They do not usually reset themselves for some reason. I always reset them when rotating tires. You need a ConsultII and the reset tool, not a DIY job. It is supposed to adapt for tire rotation as per the information from Nissan but it doesn't.

Maybe some of the other people here have done something differently.

when i got my car none of them worked, but then after a week they miraculously reset themselves. I remember reading another post on here where a lot of people had the same experience as me. after a week then go forward to the dealer.

Mine would not reset in my normal short trip stop&go traffic . After about a week I happened to go on a longer highway trip. After 30-60 minutes of steady highway speeds it reset itself. Might be coincidence...

I know that they are supposed to reset themselves the other cars do. I think it has to do more with display location in the M where it shows location of the tires. The FX has a similar system but i doesn't show location the same way. If its not too much of a PITA and since it's still under warranty you should be able to just have them fix it, it doesn't take very long and people do it ALL the time.

It's all in good fun though, I am just glad it's finally football season, it's about time to wash out the bitter feeling left from the last season.

I took my 03' M45 back to the tire shop because the sensor will still not reset. I have driven it 500 miles but that hasn't done the trick. On the computer screen it just shows ** next to the PSI, and after 10 minutes of driving the low tire sensor will come on and stay, even though they aren't low. The tire shop has a device that is suppose to reset the sensor on my car, and while the device does read the PSI levels in my car, for some reason it will not reset the computer. Anyone have ideas other than taking it to the dealer for $40.00

It sounds like you have a bad tire monitor. I cannot say for sure, but the dealer may be the way to go. What is the $40 for?

The dealer told me it was $40.00 to "reset" the sensor on the tires. What I don't get is that I had ZERO problems with the tires until I had them rotated and the broken valve stem that followed. I asked the tire guy today if it could be a bad sensor, but since the air pressure showed up on his device as being at the proper PSI he didn't think that was the issue. What I'm most upset about is that I went in for an a routine "free" issue, and I've wasted time and energy trying to get something fixed that worked perfectly well beforehand. So I guess what you are all saying is that it could be a few things, and either way I'm going to have to go to the dealer and fork out money????

It sounds like you new tire sensor is not registered. It was showing up on his device that means the sensor is fine, but if the car is not in the right mode to receive the signal it will not recognize.

I have no experience with the aftermarket tire tools and I don't know how they work. I will look into it and let you know if I find anything.
