What wheels and tires are you running? They shouldn't rub at all. Be careful wit spacers.

umm NO...that will give yuo negitive camber it will not change the distance between the tire and strut..... get some 5mm spacers

if its harldy rubbing try removing your wheel, loosen the two bolts on the base of the coil. Now pull the spindle towards you. it should barely move out. tighten everything and put wheel back on and check for clearence. if it still rubs remove the wheel and the coil all together. get a round file and oval the top holes horizontally, you want the oval to go towards the outside of the car. dont do anything to the bottom holes. You dont need much of an oval at all... now reenstall everything and pull out on the spindle like earlier. put wheel on, should clear now. you may need to adjust camber through the pillow mount at the top. hope this helps

if its just rubbing, and not rubbing that hard, 5mm should be good enough.

This is 9/10 the solution to your problem, I suggest you start there.

The holes on the lower bracket should be slotted ever slightly allowing you to induce some camber adjustment and strut positioning.

As mentioned, just loosen those two bolts that go through the spindle enough and tug the rotor, spindle, whole assembly towards you. You'll notice right away whats happening. Get a wrenching.

you want to get hubcentric spacers. you may have to replace your wheel studs also. the cheap spacers will throw out the wheel's balance when you're driving. happend to my boy's 240 back in 98. this is from my memory.

are you running 225's on stock SE wheels? I don't see why you should get rubbing issues if you are running on coilovers. I have 225 on SE with kyb and sportline, and I have a small cleareance between my tires and spring seats.

Thanks for the correction. Guess I really didn't notice what his problem was. Sorry!
