So my friend recently had some new tires put on her car and the guys at walmart were insistant to put the new tires on a fwd car in the back? My dad also has a fwd car and this "professional" tire place refused to rotate his newer tires to the front? Is this just a money making scheme or am I missing something..... To my knowledge, you want to put the newer tires on the front for a fwd, since they wear down the fastest.

I work at an independent repair shop and ive never heard of refusing to rotate tires, but all of our tire suppliers tell us to Always put new tires on the rear. They need a some time for the bead of the tire to properly seat on the wheel, and I think I remember them telling us something about putting the better tires on the rear to help in a "panic stop" or hydroplaning situation....but it could all be just trying to sell more tires

what kind of car? the Z32 TT uses directional staggard wheels so you can't rotate them at all

The first car was a Suzuki Aerio (JUNK!!), the other car was a Toyota Camry. Nothing special there! lol

That sucks about the 300ZX!
