Next week my Rogue will be 6 months old and I will take it to the dealer for 12.000 km / 6 month "Service 2". Here you can see what they will do to my Rogue:

The fourth item is "rotating the tires". But wait a minute, my car has only 5600 km on it. I don't have to rotate the tires before it reaches 12.000 km right?

I am changing the oil every three months, although I used it for just 2500 kms. As we discussed earlier in this forum, the engine oil loses its viscosity etc. by TIME. So, OK..oil is the most vital fluid in my new car. I don't mind spending $30 to change the oil. But it has 5600 kms, so I think this time (unlike oil) distance is more important than time.

So why did they wrote 12.000 km / 6 month (means whichever comes first). 6 months comes first??? then???

By the way, I will put little coloured stickers on each rim. Like red dot is for front driver side etc. That way I will be 100 % sure that they rotate the tires. Otherwise they take the car, enter the service...and after one hour they give the keys back and say "its done" :bang . Last time they said they checked the tire pressures, but they even didn't touched the valve caps (I checked before and after service by my digital gauge).

I am dreaming of an ideal life...Philip is my neighbour and we are changing oil together during weekends...

IMHO, tire rotation should be done every 10,000km. I also prefer the rear cross method:

- Left front to left rear, right front to right rear.
- Cross the rears to the front: Left rear to right front, right rear to Left front

This method maximizes tire life and works for both FWD and AWD Rogue's

I hate when they recommend service that isn't necessary like that, you don't need to rotate tires by time, only by mileage and 10-12,000 km is the right time to rotate. I
