I've had the snow tires on the Rogue (2015 SL) for the past few months and it's now time to take them off. I had mounted them on some Nissan steel wheels sans TPS. So, I've been getting the 30-second blinking dash light since.

I want to put my OEM rims back on the vehicle, but I was wondering how the TPS will work if I do a front to back wheel swap. Does the vehicle have the ability to determine which pressure sensor is at which corner of the vehicle? Or, will it "think" that my rear tires are still on the front and my fronts are still on the rear?

I guess I could figure this out later by using the tire pressure fill lights and horn, but I figured I'd ask as I'm guessing some of you have run into this already...

Well if they didn't, you have to remove the sensors from the tires every time you rotated your tires. They reset and the system figures out what signal is coming from where.

I was hoping it would learn, but I also figured that Nissan would want us to pay to have the system reset at every tire rotation.

Any idea how long it takes? And is there any way to verify that it has reset (is there some hidden menu somewhere that gives this info?). I guess I could let a few pounds out of one tire and see what the dashboard says, but I figured there might be some tech screen somewhere (similar to the hidden screens for readjusting the 4 cameras).

AFAIK, driving your Rogue over 16 mph for around 10-15 minutes should reset the TPMS. Just make sure the tires are properly inflated first.

Hi
I just bought a 2014 rogue, the tpms was working propreley, i then changed the tires to winter tires/mags. The tpms will show nothing on the screen, when i turn the car on, the toms light will blink for few seconds/minute then turn on solid...

Called the seller, confirmed that the winter mags has tpms sensors on them and were woking properely last winter...

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

If you changed the wheels to a different set of wheels with different sensors, they you have to get the sensors re-programmed at the dealer or a tire shop with a proper programming tool.

Even if the sensors were already used last winter?
It means i have to reprogram the sensors each time i change the wheels???

The sensors have to be matched to the TPMS system in the car they are being installed on.

If you bought them from someone else, the sensors in the wheels are programmed to his car. Now that you own them, you have to program them to your car.

yes - each time you install and remove the wheels you have to re-program the set of wheels you want to use. It a pain in the a**.

most people don't bother programming the TPMS on their winter wheels for this reason and just drive around with the light on until their put their original wheels on in the spring.

There is a way for you to program them yourself on some vehicles, not sure about the rogue? But it's a pain in the a** to do, you are better off going to a tire shop and paying them.

For an example of self programming look here: http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f8/r ... rks-74391/

Sooooo I have a 2012 rogue and use all season tires, since the winters here are milder then the northern climates. Do the newer Rogues actually identify which of the tires are underinflated? Mine does not

Yes, the 2nd gen Rogue gives you the tire pressure of each individual tire. An individual tire will light up yellow and activate the TPMS alarm.

Hi,
How do i reset the tpms on my 2014 nissan rogue after a flat tire repair?
I got a flat tire and it went down to 10 psi. The system displayed a warning telling me that i had a flat tire. I stopped at a local small garage and they plugged the tire and filled it with 31psi. I drove home and although it now showed the correct pressure in the repaired tire, when i start the car, it still shows that warning light on the dash and the message reads that I have a flat tire and to bring it to the dealer. The "tpms warning system" somehow needs to know that there is now 31 lbs of air in the tire even though it shows the value of 31psi on the centre display where it shows the pressure for all the tires.
How do I reset the system? The dealership said to bring it to them and they will charge me in excess of $115 and they will force reset the warning message and tire light. This makes no sense that this is the only way to reset the tpms system after a simple reduction of tire pressure in a tire and then it's subsequent refill!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If the tpms won't rest after following the above instructions, you'll most likely have to have it reset. You can pay the dealership $115 or by your own reset tool for about $137 https://www.amazon.com/Autel-TS401-Acti ... reset+tool
