I'm getting some new wheels for the MG (Konig Rewind 15x7 +0) and haven't been able to decide on a tire... FYI, this is basically a very fast street driven fair weather only car.

I'm planning to run a 205 (pretty much max width on the MG) 55/15 so I've been looking at these options. I'd like to have your opinions on best value in this size. I was running 205/40/17 General Exclaims on it before and loved them but it's not available in this size. The other tire I've been considering is the Nitto NT-450 which is priced fairly similarly.

Thoughts?

I just recently picked up a pair of Falken rt 615's in a 225/50 16 and tried them on for the afternoon. I must say, I was quite pleased. This is one sick tire for the price. (about $120 each) I am waiting to get my other 2 wheels back from powder coating on Monday then picking up the other 2 tires. Over all tho, I am a Dunlop/ Yokohama guy, but I have no idea whats going on in Dunlop land lately. Dont know if you have considered something from Khumo? Good tires, excellent pricing. Btw, I have admired your spider for a long time. Very sweet ride. Outstanding.

^ What size (width) rim are those 225/50-16's sitting on.

Just curious as i read up on my own tire options before i give up searching and make another question thread.

And yeah, the old MG's had great lines. I miss being able to see one in the garage as a little kid. ('73 MGB)

Not to jack original thread, I apologize. They would be 16x8 MB Competitions +25 offset. I love this wheel, now owning two and a half sets(one full 16", full 17x9, and two 17x8). Unusually light weight, five spokes, and nowhere near as common as the Weapons.

IF you can afford them, go with the Michelin PE2's...very sticky, progressive. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the ES100 or GFSport.
