Time to buy new tires. In the past I have always gone with either the Bridgestone Potenza or Michelin Pilot Sports. They are both pricey at $250-$290ea. Do I really need this expensive of a tire? I see where I can buy Goodyear RS-A tires for $99ea and they are rated 94V (149mph - Sport Sedans, Couples & Sports Cars). The Potenza and Pilots are rated W (Exotic Sports Cars). I love my M45 but I don't think it falls under Exotic Sport Car?

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I ended up going with the Yokohoma S tires. Good price on Tirerack.com and my local discount tire matched their prices + shipping.

Definitely avoid the Goodyear RS-A! I have only bad things to say about that tire.

While the M may not be an exotic car, , it certainly warrants being used with high-performance tires. The weight of the car will not be good for mediocre tires. If you have used the Bridgestone Potenza or Pilot Sports before, and like them, you should consider continuing with them. But, you are correct about the prices ... they are higher than other brands/models.

My car's new and still has the Goodyear RS-A's I think they are VERY loud. I never thought I'd say I can't wait until I need new tires, but...

Kuhmo tires are getting better every iteration. Best bang for the buck imo.

Always start by reading the sticky tire thread in Infiniti General!

Now that you have them, you can contribute by posting your observations over time. Almost any in specification tire is good new. It is its performance at 5K, 10K, 15K and 20K that really matters.

I have Kuhmo SPT Ecsta's (245/40/19) with about 6,000 miles on them and they seem loud below 30 MPH. I think they will get louder. At 40 and above they are relatively quiet.

Otherwise they seem to be wearing faster than I would like. Looks like I might get 25,000 from them. If I had to buy a new set today they would certainly be one of my 3 finalists. Not sure who the other two would be at this point. I am very unlikely to go with any tire over $200/each which will put the Bridgestone's and Michelin's out of the picture.

Maybe Yokohama, Falken, Hankook along with Kuhmo.

Seems that there a ton of different opinions about tires. I've read that many seem to like the Falken FK-452. I have a 2007 M35 Sport. The oem bridgestones have lasted almost 45K miles. Any suggestions?

Depends on what you are looking for.

The OEM RS-A is a long-lasting, but mediocre handling, dangerous in wet, tire.

If you want performance, go for the Michelin Pilot PS2 or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. The Falken FK-452 is likely to be decent too. However, none of these tires will last more than 18k to 25k miles.

My current Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires are down to 3/32" tread after 16k miles - much sooner than I expected. I was expecting them to last to about 25k to 30k miles (based on their UTQG comparison to other Michelin tires).

Cheaping out on the only part of the car in contact with the road is not a very good idea, unless you would rather have a Civic. Even then, I wouldn't do it.

Hope the OP didn't get Avid S, which are low performance, probably not up to an M's requirements.

So few people read, much less understand, what is on the sidewall of their tires.

....and then take the recommendation of people telling them to get the cheapest tire out there to save money because "i can take mad cornerz with them so you should get it to...yo."

Tires made by top tier tire compaines such as Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin, etc...are going to outperform lower tiered compaines that don't spend nearly as much on R&D as their counterparts...
