I remember 26 psi is for 16" tires. Mine is 17", a factory option in 2002, and label says 30 psi. Most 02 QX4 have this option and I don't remember seeing a standard 16" myself eight years ago.

After work I drive like 8 miles to Costco and fill in the nitrogen air to 35 psi. The next morning I measure it. It is about 32 psi.

The reason your tires don't stay at 35 psi with the nitrogen or air is your filling them when the tires are hot. The door placard is a cold inflation pressure. If you do top up your tires when they are hot, add 4 psi to what the desired pressure is. I run at 35 psi. 26 is too low in my opinion.

That is why I intentionally fill it to 35 psi when hot.
I used to fill to 30 psi when cold, exactly what sticker says. I decided on 32 psi cold.

97 QX4 Stock tires between 33 to 36 PSIG, winter tires at 36-38 PSIG all at the same pressure cold.
