What pressure does everone have in their tires? I just bought i pressure gauge and a couple of my tires were real low like in the low 20's. My sidewalls say 40psi is the max but i only filled it up to 32 psi. What do you guys reccomend for the best fuel economy?

Great previous threads on this. Some comments might be in the tire thread sticky in Infiniti General.

Most run at least 33-35, some in the 38-40 range, depending on load and anticpated speeds.

Why lower? Load is greater with people in the passenger seats.

Hmmm ... usually, car and tire manufacturers recommend increasing psi with additional load. Given where you set yours, I'd not bother changing your tire pressure when you have people in the car.

I'll go a little further than Z and say with 2 or more passengers and weight distribution near 50/50, increase rear tire pressure to 40 psi.

That is dangerously low for a Q (since this is the Q45 forum, that is what assume you have.)

I used to set my Q's at 35 to 36 psi all around on 44 and 51 psi max tires. Currently, I use 36 psi on all tires on my M45. Cold pressure, measured in the garage in the morning before the sun hits the tire, of course.

Note that I have not seen "40psi" max tires in a long time! How old are your tires? Is the load index safe for a Q (you need at least 95H or 95V rated tires)?

Agreed.

But, if there was some other reason for the 38 psi in the rear (not that I know why), I would not bother tweaking it back and forth since 38 is good enough too.

38 to 40 PSI up front and 35 to 37 in the rear with the summer 18's. 35 to 37 all around on the winter biased 17's.

Then, I'd run them at 36 to 38psi cold. That will be just fine!
