Post

Hello all,

I recently bought a 2003 350z touring model 6 speed and I love it. However, when I did by the car I noticed that either the brakes or the tires were causing a rather loud roaring noise. I just couldn't pass it up cause the price was really good. Anyways, after taking it to my mechanic back home he put it on the lift and showed me that the inside of my front tires were warped. Obviously, this will cause me to purchase new tires on the front only because the tread is just fine on both the back and front. After doing some more research I came across this website http://www.nissantireproblems.com/ and here it basically states my exact problem. My question is to see if anyone else here has had a similar problem to mine and what they have done about it. I will be buying the 2 front tires but I want to make sure this doesn't happen to the new ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and am really looking forward to using these forums

When I bought my 2004 the tires where the same as yours. If you get in alinemint the tires will last longer but in time will do the same thing. To truely fix the problem you will need a camber kit for the front of your car.

All directional tires suffer from heel/toe feathering since they cannot be flipped to counter wear in the opposite direction.

The more rigid the suspension the worse and faster it shows up as the weakest part is the tread block which squirms.

Welcome to performance cars with performance tires.

Actually directional tires were invented to increase wear and replacement rates while offering a tiny bit of wet improvement when less than half worn...........after 5/32" depth they get equal then progressively worse than non directionals in shifting water.

Michelin PS2 will stay quieter longer.

the dealer can tell you if the recall was done on your car, and if not they'll do it for free, basically an alignment, personally I think when you drive a sports car you sacrifice tire life for handling, I had a full autocross alignment on my MR2 and i didn't drive it on the street enough to matter but I'm sure the tires would last only a few thousand mile, I mean visible camber at all 4 corners, rear toe in and front toe out, with maxed caster

I had an alignment done and now the tires last a good bit longer, not the same amount of grip in the turns, but I am not racing my car so I am happy right now with longer tire life.
