I just upgrade Rims and Tires for my G35 coupe from 17" to 19" for a week. Today the low pressure tire light went ON and stay ON after one hour driving on FWY. I checked all tires and the tire pressure was around 40psi. (The max 50PSI). I took to the tire shop they checked and adjusted the tire pressure to 38psi. (due to Cali temp 82). The warning light for low tire pressure is still ON after that. The said because I have non factory rims that why warning light stay ON. Is that right? Is there any way to fix this problem? Appreciate for your advices.

First off, I would suggest posting your question in the G35 Forum:

http://forums.g35club.org/

The TPMS sensors are mounted to the valve stem on the wheel. Each sensor has a unique serial number that is registered in the vehicles computer. If the sensor is removed or replaced, you will get the TPMS warning light. A Nissan or Infiniti dealer needs to reprogram the computer to recognize any replacement TPMS sensors so it's important to keep the original ones that came with the vehicle. When servicing wheels/tires, be sure the shop is competent in dealing with TPMS sensors as they are easily damaged.

Now, the simple answer to your question:

It appears you upgraded your wheels... and I guess they did not move the TPMS sensors to your new wheels. If you still have your old wheels, you 'may' be able to get them removed and re-installed on your new wheels. However some aftermarket wheels will not accept TPMS sensors. In that case you have a few options:

1) Change your wheels for ones that accept TPMS sensors. Some mfgs are also making adapters to allow TPMS sensors to work in any wheel.2) Ignore the TPMS light (there is no way to turn it off).3) WARNING: I DO NOT ENDORSE THIS:

- Remove the spare tire, dismount the tire from the rim and tape your 4 old sensors inside the wheel. - Remount the tire and inflate it to 40psi.- Re-install the spare in the vehicle so the TPMS computer can pick up the signals from the TPMS sensors. This will trick the TPMS computer into working.

The BIG problem with this is you will never be able to use the spare tire again. The sensors will easily fall off and get damaged.

BTW if you have lost or sold your old TPMS sensors, you will need new ones. To the tune of $120/ea!
