There should be a sticker in your driver side door on the frame that says recommended tire pressure. There could be a recommendation on the tire itself also. If there is, I would average the two.

I thought the tires only listed the max pressure, which I would not use in my calculation. With similarly sized tires as yours, I have found that 35psi cold gets a good mix of economy and even tire wear. IIRC, that is a little high compared to the manufacturers recommendation, though. I move down to 20psi offroad. Your manual should also have figures for inflation with heavy loads vs. light loads.

There's a sticker on the door. That's a good starting point. If err, err on thehigh side. If you go too low, you can uneven tire wear (on the outsides), less overall tire life (tire is running hotter) and bad gas mileage. If you go too high, you get uneven tire wear (on the middle), maybe a bit better tire life (tire isrunning cooler) and better gas mileage. Got the picture?

Invest in a tread depth gauge and measure the tread depth at the beginningof every quarter. Write it down in your owner's manual. Adjust pressures asappropriate.

Oh yes, you might get better handling at the extremes from the higher pressure.
