Hello there,

Need to replace all 4 TPMS tire sensors on my 2006 M35, I found a set of 4 for under $55 on ebay, OEM Infiniti cost over $100 each.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-4X-Tire-Pres ... 0D&vxp=mtr

Are these good enough?
Suggestions?

Thanks
Carlos

There is no need to buy the sensors form the dealer and no need to use OEM sensors. BUT, be sure that the sensors you buy are set to the proper frequency or your car will not read the sensors.
Check the FSM to be sure. I believe for my car, the frequency is 315 mHz. I don't know if that's the same across all Inifiniti models.

Thanks Larz, will look into frequency, good advice.

Looked at an aftermarket TPMS website for Infiniti sensors and it looks like the 2006 M335 uses 315 MHz:

http://titantpms.ecomm-nav.com/nav/Year ... -Type-TPMS

I've nothing to do with the company and have never bought from them, but they guarantee 100% compatibility and will price match for same item if found cheaper.

This is interesting, I bought new tires/wheels and tpms sensors early this year, 315mhz for my 03 M45, I didn't actually get the sensors installed until last week, the manual says a few drives and they will be read by the car.
Not sure if anyone is famailar on the 03 tpms but the tpms light doesn't come on even if no sensors unless you drive at highway speed for extended time, and then when you restart the car it goes off.
There is a menu you can look at the tire pressures at though in the info center. Well my car still hasn't registered those sensors and yesterday on a longer highway drive the tpms did light up. anyone know what the 03 system is doing that isn't working?

Gene, the y34 requires programming by someone with the tool (I had to use the dealership ages ago). It won't automatically register new TPMS like the new models.

If I were to buy TPMS sensors, I prefer to spend whatever monies to get any Schrader branded ones. It's a trusted name in the field. I haven't heard anything bad from other brands yet, just a preference.
Additionally, get rubber versus metal components. When I had my original ones transferred from wheel to wheel there was some form of metal corrosion on the original ones that made it harder to seal. 2 ended up breaking and I had to buy new ones.

ah, damn that is too bad, looks like I will be spending more money then I expected again.

I went through a whole deal buying and installing crappy tpms sensors. Not fun and ended up costing too much money.
Here is the best bang for your bucks btw I have 2007 m35
VDO SE10001HP REDI-Sensor 314.9 MHz/315 MHz TPMS Sensor ($28) and get Walmart to install and reprogram the car ($5).
They have the se10001hpr if you like the rubber valve stem.

Well to update an old thread, I never did get those sensors programmed to the car, I went in to 4 different tire places in the last year at different times and everyone of them tried to program it but none of them worked, The tpms sensors in all the wheels worked the hand held machine they used showed all the sensors showing correct pressure, but when they went to plug in the machine to the obd2 port and program the car it would fail to communicate. Finally yesterday I decided hell with it I will take it to the dealer to do the job and pay the extra money. I sat in there for a couple hours only to find out that the dealers machine would freeze up when they connected it to my car they tried some of the older machines hoping it was a protocol error but they couldn't get any machine to communicate with my cars tpms module. So at that point I just started looking up random tpms issue's solutions and came across a way on older G's and Nissans to manually put the module in learning mode so I tried it and at last found success........

I also ended up getting all new sensors and found some on Amazon. they paired up good with the handheld device and with my car. haven't had any issues and I've had them for over a year now. I also had 2 of them installed on my girls Mazda and haven't had any issues. This is the link from Amazon if anyone else is interested. They have to be 315MHz and I'm not sure if the frequency changes much (if any) between years.

This is for a 2 pack but they also sell a 4 pack if needed

Glad you got it sorted out Gene. Do you mind sharing a link to the procedure you used?

Not a problem, here is where I found it. https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tir ... ols-2.html

and a recap if you don't want to follow the link and do a bunch of reading..
Start by checking if the vehicle is equipped with a TPMS connector (1 wire connection / white connector) linked to the OBDII electric wiring underneath the dashboard (figure 1, left - note that the following example applies to a 2006 MURANO).

Procedure:

1. Use a jumper to link the TPMS connector to ground (figure 2).
2. KOEO
3. Momentarily disconnect and plug back in the TPMS connector (5 to 6 times)
4. The TMPS warning light will blink when the system starts initiating.
5. Start the reset procedure with the left-front tire, then the right-front tire, then the right-rear tire, and end with the left-rear tire
6. Once the system has completed the reset procedure, the TPMS warning light on the dashboard will automatically stop flashing
This method assumes you have access to a tool to wake the tire sensors if you don't have access to that equipment you can manually wake the sensors by doing.
1) set different tire pressures in each wheel: RF to 34psi, LF to 31psi, LR to 28 psi and RR to 26psi;
2) start engine;
3) perform the OBD3 procedure to reset and put the tpms into learning mode - tpms warning light should be blinking;
4) drive vehicle around at speeds greater than 40kph until the tpms warning light stops blinking and turns off. Note a short time later, the tpms warning light should go on and stay on (since one or more of your wheels will be lower that 28psi);
5) disconnect the wire from the connector; and
6) reinflate the tire pressure to spec. and drive around until the tpms warning light turns off.

Yes, indeed! Always good when people report back with specific solutions, since it helps others here.

Thanks!

Hmmm - I just got a 2004 M35 and the TPMS are not reading. Looks like this is going to be one of my first projects.
