I just had a TPMS replaced because it was leaking air. Drove around all day and its still reads *.* and tire pressure light was on. The shop that did the work is a huge tire chain and when I brought it back they rechecked all tires with a scanner and got readings. They cleared the error code, the light went away for a bit then went back on and the tire pressure never registered.

Could they be doing something wrong? How are TPMS sensors paired/programmed to a 2009 M35x so the car knows which tire is which?

Also, what happens in a rotation? Should the tires be reprogrammed?

You just need to drive at 50mph+ for a good 15-20 minutes and they should pick up. If you're driving around town (ie. 30mph) I doubt they'll pick up.

I just had one replaced too. Discount Tire said they couldn't reset the code for whatever reason though (the service person said they've had issues with Nissan/Infiniti OBD ports talking to their scanners), so I'm going to have to go by the dealer to reset it.

I just got this issue resolved after a few iterations.

My large chain tire store installed Schrader EZ Sensors when my OEM sensors failed. On my 2009 M35x, EZ Sensors are able to be read by a scanner after programming but the car doesn't grab the signal in the car's computer. In order to resolve this issue, the store tech used a Bartec tool and a procedure list to reset the car's tire pressure monitoring system. After the reset, the new sensors were all recognized by my car.

If you have this issue and you aren't at a dealer. Make sure your shop has the proper tools to make sure the sensors are read by the car or you will have to pay extra $$$ to have the dealer do the reset.
