Just bought a 2005 Nissan 350z Touring about 2 weeks ago. Runs perfect and i am in love. My only problem is, when i toggle thru my gauges and find the Tire Pressure gauge, It shows me what my front tire pressure is but goes blank when i go to look at the back tire pressure. Why would that be? Do i need to replace the sensers or what?

no it is not illuminated. I have the three guages in the center. When i cycle thru my gauge (temperature, miles til empty, clock, etc) and get to the tire pressure one, it shows the actual pressure in the tires (35psi). When i click to switch from looking at the front tires to the rear it just displays (--psi).

I'm betting the batteries in the sensors are dead. Take the Z on a longer drive, 30-45 minutes and I'll bet the TPMS light turns on.

The same thing would happen to me when my batteries were on their way out and I had a hour commute to and from work. It would start out fine but after driving a while the light would eventually pop. I ended up getting set of OEM sensors from someone that had a spare set, but aftermarket should be just as good and a lot cheaper as well.

Just to make sure the sensors were dead you could talk to a local tire shop about then and see what their price on some new sensors is. I've always read, but never verified, that sensors should always be replaced four at a time. Might want to check into that before going shopping.

I drive long distances quite often and so far it hasnt popped up. The only time it popped up was when it was cold and my PSI dipped to 28. I filled all the tires up to 35 and it hasnt popped back up since. It is a 10 year old car that i picked up used with only 69k miles. So i'm betting that the sensors have never been changed. I think i'm going to go ahead and just replace all 4 sensors, its only like $200, and see if that fixes it.
