Hey everybody. My brother has a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder and he has been having a problem with his rear passenger side tire. It seems that he has been losing pressure in that tire every week or so and we keep on pumping it up to the right psi and I've looked for nails, gashes, screws, etc...but nothing, it keeps on losing pressure. I have no idea why this is happening. My brother heard that it might have something to do with the TPMS valve, but he isn't sure. Has anybody come across this problem before? Sorry I didn't use the search button, but I'm too lazy lol. Thanks in advance!

Has he tried replacing the valve stem core? My current set of tires had two slow leaks like this that I couldn't find anywhere on the tire or seal. After month my dad reminded me about the stem core, and the problem went away after they were replaced.

You can grab a box of them from a parts store for a couple bucks. Also helps to have a valve stem core removal tool. Some metal valve caps also have the tip needed. I think I paid $5 in total for everything I needed.

As far as I know there aren't any special steps needed for core replacement if you have TPMS, but I've never had a vehicle with that feature; someone else might want to confirm/deny this.
