Seems the recommendation is 33 pounds cold measure. Is that what everyone is using out there? This is on the 19inch high performance tires. Also, am considering a winter tire/wheel package. Has anyone done a 17" or 18" package? Looking at tirerack. Thanks for any info.

(Will likely use michelin or dunlop performance winter tires)

Normally one uses 80% [of maximum 51 or 44 psi] 41 or 35 psi operating psi......................33 cold psi usually yields 35-36-37 psi depending on ambient temp and speed. Too little for 51 psi tires and maybe a tiny tad high for 44 psi tires.

I recommend using about 36 psi, or so, as a good balance between too much (making for a harsher ride) and too little (below the measure point of load index and pressure normally drops 1 to 2 psi every week anyway). You can adjust up or down from 36 psi a bit to get the results you want ...

BTW, with lower aspect ratio tires, it is also more important to keep the pressure right (so measure more often!) - it takes less air to change the pressure than with higher aspect ratio tires, as you may have noticed when you add or remove air to get to the right reading!

Also, most - but not all - tires are 51 psi max pressure nowadays (I don't know about winter tires though!), so 36 psi still meets Q45tech's recommendation above!
