Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) - Is it needed on my new rims/wheels?

I am purchasing a spare set of wheels to use in winter as well as to use with race tires in the summer for autocrossing. Do I really need to spend the $362 for the TPMS sensors, especially when I will be swapping the tires on and off in the summer for racing.

What happens if you don't have the sensors installed? Is it just a light or does it give you warnings, etc.? Do you have to take the car to a dealership to get the new sensors initialized?

nothing really happens. i wasnt aware of this when i put on my AME rims either just a light on ur dash! it doesnt really bother me tat much so..its really up to u!
