If I'm reading this right, you want new rims and tires for summer, and then to use your stock rims for winter tires?

If that's the case, you will probably want to leave the TPMS sensors in the stock wheels, were they will be sure to work. The Nissan TPMS sensors don't work with all aftermarket wheels.

You also need to keep them basically permanently on one set of wheels because, in order to switch the sensors from one set of wheels to another, you would need to have the tires unmounted from BOTH sets of rims, and then re-mounted after the sensors are switched over.

If you're going to do two sets of rims, you might as well just save up the few hundred extra bucks for the set of extra tire sensors. In fact, places like Tirerack.com will automatically select the correct sensors, price them, and ask you if you want to add them to the package.

My pal just bought the kind you put on as valve covers and they work great. I see he has the small gage on his dash. I figured they would be stolen the first night but he has had them on his motorcycle and car for two months. Cost 99 dollars US.

You don't need them. But your TPMS light will be on all the time. Just check your pressure often!

Sharpies or electrical tape work great at covering up warning lights.
