If all sensors are functional and programmed to your car, simply adjusting the tire pressure should make the light go out.

Did you transfer the sensor to your new tire when it was changed?

Tire pressure sensors stay on the wheel, not the tire. If you kept the same wheels and simply installed new tires, the sensors are still there.

Check your air pressure.

My tire pressure light came on too. I wish it was the tire pressure! My 08 Infinity G35X is throwing code C1734. Infinity dealership says nothing mechanically wrong with the car. They found that the after market remote starter was wired to the BCM. They say the remote starter is shorting out the computer (BCM) which is causing the hard code and will probably lead to the car throwing more codes, possibly inactivating my electric locks, ignition, etc. I called the remote starter establishment and faxed them what the dealership gave me. They refute the dealership's findings (of course they do). Incidentally - the dealership has voided my warranty until the BCM is replaced! I wonder - is it common practice to hard wire a remote starter into a vehicle's computer system??? is the establishment that installed my remote starter liable for the cost to replace the BCM ($600) ??? The remote starter itself cost about $600. Could the Dealership be wrong??? If anyone has any experience with something like this I would sure appreciate your feedback. I just don't know who to trust. Thanks !

It almost sounds like they defeated the keyless system which has a direct tie into the tire pressure reciever. I was wondering how one would hook up a remote starter.

To me the better way would have been to go to the tail but then other issues may crop up as well. By the tail I mean that the starter and ignition relays are both located on the IPDM not the BCM.

The way this appears to function is that the BCM tells the cpu in the IPDM that all is well and the proper credentials have been provided to start the car. This includes things like the the Steering Lock, Key recognized, Brake On, etc. Once all this has been reported the BCM will then tell the IPDM that it can now close the ignition and starter relays located on the IPDM. The steering lock relay is also located here as well.

I have thought about a security system for the Infiniti, but more along the lines of one that works with the Infiniti security system. Because of various issues I have had with the starting system of my own 08 X I would never consider a remote starter unless it was installed by the Infiniti dealer or an alliance. At that point I would want in writing that they would honor the car's warranty and be responsible for any issues that crop up.

The TPM IDs are registered inside the BCM. There are only 4 spaces so when you moved the spare tire over the flat and registered wheel was not sending its signal...because it could not be found and the ID on the spare was not programmed into the the BCMs memory. To properly reset the monitor you will need to either visit the dealer or repair the flattened tire.

The direct logic for that code is an internal failure inside the TPM control unit, the BCM. If the installer tapped into connector M119 terminal 11 for it's power supply I would not be surprised if that was the route cause of your problem.

The majority of these systems require an Ikey to be purchased and stored inside the car. They cannot legally mimic the Ikey frequency (speculation) so storing a key inside the car is required. The side effects of this are faulty operation in the door locks, request switches and alarm activation. The Ikey sensors know where the key is by frequent pinging signals that the fob interprets and responds to. Technically this would not allow the BCM to go to sleep in addition to having to bypass the brake pedal switch in some way to send a false signal to the BCM when remote start is commanded.

If all you have is a remote the system looks pretty simple but is actually quite complex and requires defeating of several built in safety features.

If they will reinstate the warranty after BCM replacement I would consider that a plus. In most cases when they make a decisions like that someone fills out the necessary paper work to make it permanent. Electrical modifications in these modern Infinitis can get very dicey very quickly. Many of the products on the market are universal or select model availability but are not always designed specifically for a certain model.

That is the primary reason Infiniti has not offered an optional remote start. The system is not safe enough to meet their standards so they have yet to green light such a product.

Do you know if the impact sensor for the 09 can be retro-fitted to the 08?

To me if you tapped into the hood or trunk open sensor one should be able to retro-fit fairly easily. The only negative I could see so far is that it would just report it as something else, but the alarm would still go off.

I really don't know if the shock sensor would work. My guess would be yes, but I will get with Gabe to confirm.

Tapping in a contact switch would be one thing but I have always wanted to take it a step further and use something a little cooler. Proximity sensing and the such...

Now that I think about I really have only seen one new car get the shock sensor. I read the bulletin on how to mount it and it seems straight forward. A shock sensor is a great addition to a decent system, having a standard and advanced sensing capabilities would be a great asset in some areas.
