Tire Pressure light and Cigarette Lighter Problem

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone having the Tire Pressure light indicator came on?

My ex35 had this light came on and i checked my tires thinking that they are running out of air. Then i pumped more air into the tires to the max 51psi but this Tire Pressure light is still came on in in Odometer !

One more thing is the Cigarette Lighter don't work! I'm trying to charge my phone from it and don't see any sign showing there's an electric current going through. Try different charger but it still don't work. Then i tried out the outlet inside of the center console compartment (in between driver seat and passenger seat) and there's no electric too.!

Anyone know about this please reply! thanks

Hey there and Welcome to NICO!

There are a few things I would recommend to you.

First let 15 psi out of your tires now. Many of the Canadians and other cold place owners see ideal results using 35psi in all tires, to allow for contraction of the air during the cold winter nights. The tire pressure may fluctuate ~5-8psi depending on ambient temperature change. Setting the tires to 45+ psi is not only unsafe but it will set another TPMS dtc. That is most likely the reason your light remained on.

Secondly if you put a cell phone charger in the socket and it didn't work your cell phone charger may have an internal short and is drawing more than 15amps of current to blow the fuse. You can check this yourself with a flash light, by removing the access panel by the dead pedal and checking the fuses for power socket, and cigarette lighter. There are three 15 amp fuses in the top left section of the fuse block, check them and replace your cell phone charger.

Good Luck, Remember we are here to help.

When I got my EX35 (about a week and a half ago), I noticed (on the way home) that the TPMS light was stuck on so naturally I thought the tires were under-inflated. The car actually came with a digital pressure gauge so I checked and they were all over-inflated (to around 51 PSI).I took in back to the dealer and they fixed it (and corrected the tire pressure down to 36 PSI).

I had a similar problem with my previous vehicle(X-trail) not charging from any power outlet and this sounds like the same thing. Turns out the charger I was using had to be pushed in VERY hard, past where it felt like it was in all the way. I thought I had it in far enough but it needed an extra push. Try that. Good luck!!

Once the Tire Pressure Warning Light comes on (and after you correct the low pressure in the affected tire), you have to drive the vehicle at a speed over 20 mph (or is it 25 mph?) for a short distance before the light will reset.

Yep - the manual says at speeds above 16 mph (or 25 km/h).

thanks for all the replies you guys!

i still couldn't get rid of that Tire Pressure light. I let out some air from my tires then drive around the block for 1 mile with the speed of 15-20 mph and looked like an idiot with alot cars honking at me! ;((

Anyone have better idea?

You might actually have a problem. If the light does not reset with the corrected pressure within a certain period of time and mileage, you may need to take it in to get looked at.

I picked up a nail in one of my tires about 3 weeks ago. The low pressure light alerted me to the slow leak. When I filled the tire with air it took at least 2-3 miles of driving before the light went out. And that was at 35-40 mph. You have to drive ABOVE the 16 mph, not within a specific range.

Just take the car out for normal driving and I bet the light goes out. If it doesn't, perhaps you have another tire that is low?
