2008 Altima Coupe 3.5L

My tire pressure light is flashing for about a minute and then stays on while driving. I read that this means my tire pressure gauge is busted or not working.

So is there any "How To's" or "DIY" threads about how to change this out? Or would it be easier to take it to Nissan?

P.S. I know which pressure gauge is busted.

If you mean one of your TPMS sensors and if your still under warranty then i would just take it to the dealer, it will be under warranty and theyll just swap it out for a new one and reprogram it for you. If you dont want to do that, you'd have to buy a new one which are stupid expensive, then take your tire off, swap em out throw your tire back on then you'd probably still have to go to Nissan for them to program it.
Hope this helps!

If you are still under warranty take it to the dealership. If not I'd take it to a place like NTB.( National Tire and Battery) I'm pretty sure that you have to deflate the tire completely and remount it after the replacement so don't try to do that yourself. And as posted above they are real expensive.

I guess I should ask the obvious question just so it gets asked. Have you checked your actual tire pressure, filled it and seen if the light goes away after driving highway speeds for a while?

Yerp...there is no reason it should just stop working other than being defective from the start. I take my stockers off for the summer and leave them in my basement for 7-8 months and then throw them right back on and they work without a re-program.

How is it that you know which TPMS it is? You are correct that a flash and then constant on means its not registering but Id still try throwing some air in there first.

When you just have low pressure it the light doesn't blink for about a minute or so when you turn the car on. I was gonna ask the same thing until I read that part.

Yes I put air in the tire and the tire pressure light is still on.

I hit a decent sized branch on my way to work one morning (5am) and the tire pressure light popped on right when this happened. So I assume it's the front passenger tire that has a busted TPMS.

I highly doubt hitting a branch is going to break the TPMS, unless it was square on the valve stem and REALLY hard, but in that case I would think the tire would blow out as well.

Interesting, dealership it under warranty...

Mine has done the same thing. Blinks and stays on. I took it to the dealership and the tried resetting it and it came back 2 days later. (thats after checking the tires at different times within 2 days) and when i took it in for my free oil change i mentioned it still wasn't working and they said it wasnt covered under my 3 month warranty (bought used) but they must have reset it again bc when i left it was off and stayed that way for a week but again came back on....when temps dropped to 0 degrees. but again I checked the tires and they were spot on.

youre either going to have to deal with the light and randomly check your tires or drop the cash and have a new one put in....i've decided to let the light decorate my dash....
