I have replaced the oem tires on my 2004 murano with the same tire that came on it. It has developed a roar that sounds like tire noise. Anyone know a tire that does not produce the noise? I have thought about a bearing or something but didn't know. It has 60,000 miles on it.

Welcome!

Does the noise change when you're on different road surfaces (i.e. asphalt, cement....etc.)? If it does it's probably just tire noise. If you can find a smooth dirt road to take a drive on that would probably be the best test. You shouldn't hear much tire noise on dirt. Also, if you haven't done so check the tire pressure. Tire retailers have a bad habit of overinflating.

I'm not a tire expert, but I try to stay away from inexpensive "high milage" tires. They always seem to make the most noise.

If you still suspect it's bearing noise it's probably best not to wait too long to have it checked out.

I took the Murano to the dealer for eval. Mechanic said front wheel bearing was bad at a price of $200.00. Had them order both of them. Just thought I'd pass this on if anyone needs the info. Thanks
