tire monitor sys.?

hello, i put stock wheels on for the winter and my tire pressure sys. does not work.can you tell me how to set it up? dealler tells me to bring it in along with $52.00. i say f--k that. unless i can do it myself with your help of course.one thing i need to tell that i use one wheel from the trunk/spare.thanks,caug.

Normally, it takes driving around for a while and the tire readings then reset. If that does not work, you need the reset using the special tool designed for the purpose - the dealer has those.

IMHO, the dealer should not charge for this - certainly not that much for 5 minutes work to reset the sensors! Give him a hard time and/or talk to the Owner/Manager of the dealership and get some assistance.

This issue with the TPMS systems has not been thought through properly by the car manufacturers, IMHO ...

i went to my regular dealer in madison that changed my tires and his computer was not working next time i was in Chicago stopped at dealer there he walked around with a hand held model reset all the sensors for free in two minutes
