Hi All, my 2001 Qx4 door panel says to inflate tires to 26 lbs psi per tire. I have Michelin 17 inch crossterrains on it. I am confussed isnt 26 to low ,what are you all inflating to in this case?? I am accustomed to inflating to 32 psi --- Help.... Or do you run 26 psi cause its an QX4 infinity truck ??

On my stock 16inchers with snow tires i run about 33ish. On my 20 inchers i run about 32-34psi, and they hold the road good cause i push my pathfinder on turns.

26 is if you need to lower psi to get out of some offroading ordeal thats what they do lol.

at 26psi id think we would get 8mpg.

For 14 years QX4 posted 26 PSIG for tires, remember Firestone/Bridgestone fiasco? At 26 the car squirms, trial and error found 33 about right with snow tires at 36 PSIG. The side wall rating is the maximum rating when cold, do not go over. You may find you like a lower pressure.

THANKS ALL, I am glad I asked this question. I dont know what I was doing running 26 lbs, I have been running 32 psi in all my other cars , When I bought the truck the last guy had been running the 26 and I stayed with it.. I now will put 33 in when the tire is cold . THANKS

I have an '01 PF. Door panel says 26. That wears out the outside edges of the tires, so is too low. 32 front
30 rear would be a good starting point. It will somewhat depend on the the tires.

Never found a definitive answer to aftermarket sizes. 4 wheel parts magazine had a "chalk test" to check for uniformity.
